Eli's 5th Birthday

I have picture overload below with pictures from Eli's birthday little over a week ago. His birthday fell on a Friday this year so he wore his school spirit shirt to school and I picked him up we came home to open a gift from us and one from Nic before we went to lunch at Logan's Roadhouse. Our little tradition that we started on Eli's second birthday, the day Logan's opened in Owasso so now we go on all of our birthday's. After lunch we picked up his cake (from the best bakery, D's Sweet Designs) and came home to get ready for his party that evening. He had a few friends from school come and they all had such a ball. After playing in the bounce house or castle as the boys call it, they ate pizza played more, then gifts, pinata, cake and more playing. It was such and enjoyable evening with family and friends. This year's theme was all about Transformers and it was such a hit. After the party we went to the high school football game and the boys had fun there as well. Needless to say they crashed when we got home that night. It is hard to believe our little man is five it doesn't seem like it was that long ago that he was just a baby.

Things are on the upswing..

Sorry no posts for a while, hubby has been hogging the computer, he has been off since Friday and we have been taking care of Eli and a ton of other things that need to be done. I am happy to report the surgery went well and he is slowly starting to feel better. We kept him home from school this week just to let him relax and of course his throat is hurting. At the hospital we had a little trouble getting him to take his medicine and finally had to make him, it made him relax enough they were able to pull him in a wagon to surgery (very cute idea by the way). The doctor said everything went well, except right before it started Eli got a little startled and began to realize we were not there. His adenoids were very swollen and I am glad he doesn't have to deal with those nasty things anymore. We can home later that morning and he slept for a few hours and then was up and wanting to eat, if this keeps up I don't know how we are going to keep the pantry and refrigerator stocked with food! We have had some trouble with him taking his antibiotic or even Tylenol for that matter because he is scared and doesn't understand it will help him. But who wouldn't be after all that? He looks like he is starting to feel much better and has gotten a lot of rest over the last few days and things are beginning to feel normal again. Thank you everyone for thinking about us, we really appreciate it.

Flashback Friday

I am participating in Melinda's flashback Friday and our assignment was to find a picture from a past Thanksgiving or Black Friday and wouldn't you know it I couldn't find any. Well, the two I did find are of both the boys last year right before we went over to their Great Grannie's for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner. I remember this because that evening we went to look at the lights at Rhema, which are absolutely beautiful. Can't you tell they look so pleased that I was taking their picture right before we leave. I am definitely going to have to break out some of the pictures I took of our house last year after the ice storm, the worst week we have had. Next time I promise to find a better picture and wouldn't you know I couldn't find any of Doug or I on a previous Thanksgiving together, until we had the boys we really didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Now I am on top of it all the time.

Thanksgiving Feast at Preschool

Yesterday morning Eli's class had their Thanksgiving Feast, it consisted of nuts, bananas, grapes, apples, oranges, raisins and marshmallows. A pretty good little fruit feast if I say so. Anyway, the kids were all so adorable and they really enjoyed some of the parents coming up to watch them. They all sat down at their seats and said their Thanksgiving prayer and loved eating their snack. It was so cute watching them pour their own drinks and just have fun, it is a side of preschool you don't always get to see when you drop them off and pick them up. I am going to laminate his little place mat so that it doesn't get destroyed, at least not on my watch. They have also been preparing for a Christmas pageant, I will definitely have to break out the camcorder for that.

Thought I would toss in a picture of Doug & Nic from yesterday.

Mr. Eli pouring his own drink at the feast.

The look of starvation, their snacks are being delivered.

Preparing to sit down and enjoy.

Guess I better get back to preparing my Thanksgiving feast for us tomorrow, a couple things down and a few to go.
